The iPhone 4S is a smartphone, the fifth generation of Apple’s iPhones. It follows the iPhone 4 and precedes the iPhone 5. It was announced on October 4, 2011, in Cupertino. It was the last Apple product announced by the company’s former CEO and co-founder, Steve Jobs, who died the following day.
